To John and Hank,

I do not think I could ever thank you enough for the amazing impact you’ve had on my life. Through your books, John, and your music, Hank, and the both of your videos, my view of the world has drastically changed for the better. As a result of my watching your channel, I have met and talked with amazing people, all who make my life better and amazing in every way. I have learned to embrace everything and have an open mind, and most of all, I have learned to love being a nerd. These are priceless things that I hope will stay with me always. I believe I’ve become a better person in general because of you guys. Thank you so much.

Dear Hank and John,

There’s only so much I can say. And so much I don’t know how to say.

You two have touched my life in ways I didn’t even think people could. John, your books have helped me try to sort out some fears and frustrations I’ve had with life for many years. Hank, your songs never fail to cheer me up. Together, you two have made my life better, one word, one note, one thought at a time. Your videos always make my day.

I’ll be seeing you on Monday at the Tour de Nerdfighting. I doubt I’ll have the time or the courage to tell you how much you mean to me, but I hope you know it’s a lot.

I know I’m nothing special, and I’m just another Nerdfighter, but you two make me feel like I can be someone. You make me want to strive to decrease WorldSuck and never forget to be awesome. And while some things in my life might never be fixed or figured out by me, at least I’ve tried to do something.

Thank so, so much. Your videos have brought me happiness in times of need and depression. I’ve found an entire community that understands me! I’ve made friends by referencing the crazyness we call vlogbrothers. 

John-

I hate your name. I always spell it Gohn. I have a difficulty differentiating between Gs and Js. I’m not dyslexic, I’m just weird. I spent half an hour freaking out because Barns and Noble didn’t have any of your books because I forgot the two were different letters. 

I love your books. They’re great and you’ve really hit home in both Alaska and TFIOS with wanting to be known. Thanks.

Dear John and Hank,

I’ve been a nerdfighter for long enough that I can’t even remember when I wasn’t a nerdfighter. The two of you have inspired me to do many things that I otherwise wouldn’t have done. You’ve given me a little bit of sunshine on my cloudiest days. I thank you guys for being there for me, always ready to make me smile when I most need it. And I thank you for being the catalyst for the amazing community we call Nerdfighteria.

But the biggest thing I want to thank you for is for helping me find the greatest thing I have ever experienced in my life, love. You see, awhile back I was really into vlogging, just like you guys. But I had little motivation to constantly put up videos, so I thought I would join a collab. So I hopped on the ning and looked around for collabs looking for members. I found a few and applied. Unfortunately, none accepted me due to various reasons, they had already found a member, they had already disbanded, etc. So I joined a group of Nerdfighters on the ning and we started our own, but that’s not the point to this story.

One of the collab channels I had applied to had really caught my eye, so I continued to watch their videos. One day, one of their members posted a video about how his favorite place was the town that I happened to go to college in. So, throwing caution to the wind, I commented on the video saying I lived there and that it is, in fact, awesome. And he responded.

He eventually followed me on Twitter and the two of us began @replying back and forth. I looked forward to our correspondence; there was something about him, something that was so different from anyone I had ever met. So slowly but surely, the two of us began to fall in love. Months later, after countless tweets and texts, we admitted our feelings for one another. It was incredible, feeling like that for someone. Since then, we have visiting one another many times and have met each other’s family and friends. Next week will be our six month anniversary, and I’m excited for many more months to come.

So what I really want to say is thank you for starting up this community. For if you never had, I never would have found his nerdfighter collab and eventually him. Because of you guys I met my best friend, and who I think will be the love of my life. Yeah, I know it’s pretty soon to call that. But he is unlike any other guy I have been with. And you probably understand the feeling, you just know. Plus, he’s a nerdfighter, which is a huge plus! He’s an even bigger nerd than me, which is saying something. Haha.

Thank you John and Hank. You’ve changed my life for the better in so many ways, this is just one of them.
